Projects
Here's a brief description of my past choreographic/research projects from 2021-2024.
How our Contemporary bodies harmonise energy
2023-2024
How our Contemporary bodies harmonise energy is a research based project that I started in order to explore how Aikidō impacts somatic contemporary practices through breathwork, functionality of weight and cultural conduct. On a whole it looks at the effect Aikidō has on somatic contemporary styles and tests how further philosophies react within a dance environment. Freelance contemporary dancers and Aikidoka's were involved throughout this project with the final event consisting of a live installation, a movement documentary and a dissertation discussing the process.
I spoke about this research and dance piece at the British Conference of Undergraduate Research in London, April 2024.

Grab my hand; Or my foot
2022-2023
Grab my hand; Or my foot, moving through time, land and waves until we arrive. is a piece that I and Alexandra Bierlaire created under our dance collective Sandpaper&Mash for the European Portalis Project.
The performance explores the journey of migration between Wales and Ireland taking experiences from personal stories of travelling round Europe. Finding the curiosity in moving, seeing and settling within todays society. Reminiscing on the same journey that our ancestors took over thousands of decades. We are discovering our stories by reliving theirs through change of society, climate and countries. This piece was performed in Waterford, Ireland and Aberystwyth, Wales.

Moving objects, Museum of Lies
2021-2022
Moving Objects was commissioned for a larger based project called the Forgotten Object exhibition and Museum of Lies exhibition with Cyfarthfa Castle museum and University of Wales Trinity Saint David.
I collaborated with Professor Dr. Katharina Zinn to give meaning and new life to the archeological discoveries they have found. This piece played on the authenticity of a journey through millenniums and explored all possible stories and lives these forgotten objects gave the earth.
The end product produced a dance film that was shown in Budapest 2022 at the European Association of Archaeologists conference.
